M ndez University System invites you to the opening of the exhibition RAW MATERIAL showcasing the work of Puerto Rican Artist Amara Abdal Figueroa and curated by SMU Pollock Gallery Director Sof a Bastidas from May 25th to November 14th\, 2018. \n\n\n\nAn opening reception will be held Friday\, May 25th at 7 p.m. in the Ana G. M ndez University System Dallas Campus located on 3010 N. Stemmons Freeway Dallas.\n\n\n\nAdmission is free and open to the public. \n\n\n\nPlease RSVP by clicking on Going or emailing jbanchs@suagm.edu.\n\n\n\nAbout the exhibition:\n\n\n\nAmara Abdal Figueroa works between the many layers of art\, architecture\, research and design. Her work hopes to map out and reconcile the use of natural resources as a way to create new methodologies of working with nature and for nature. The photographs presented in this exhibition are the artist process with clay\, mud and earth. Abdal is interested in the sourcing\, collecting and studying the earth and its processes with the humble intention that we can learn from their inherent attributes.
